KRISTINA ROLANDER (b. 1979) is an American installation artist, creating large-scale paintings and immersive environments. She often collaborates with venues, musicians, and festivals on custom visuals for event spaces and live performance. With diorama-inspired structures, hanging elements, and painted backdrops, she transforms ordinary space by uniting art and audience in a singular, transcendent experience.
Notable collaborations include stage designs for Eaux Claires Art & Music Festival (2017) and Andrea Gibson (2018), painted backdrops for Ric Wilson (2019, 2017), Little Scream (2016), and Shannon and the Clams (2016), and set designs for various music videos. Despite having displayed throughout North America, her most visible piece remains a large-scale, monochrome backdrop installed onstage at Cactus Club in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Titled Op Art Psychedelia, this piece was put on permanent display in April 2017 and has been a prominent, visual feature at the venue ever since.
