To THIS! Lisa Congdon and Deedee Cheriel, TOGETHER, in one show. I am so excited to see Deedee's work in person, as she is one of my favorite artists at the moment. Also, I'll probably be dragging the kids there but I don't even care. They'll love me for it when they are 20-something hipsters, smoking cigarettes in the coffeeshop, while discussing Nietzsche with their philosophizing friends. Or ... maybe not. But whatever. Opening is tomorrow night. UWM - Union Art Gallery from 5-8 pm. {INFO}

Work in Progress: Spirit Animal Series © 2011 by Kristina Rolander

Awhile back, I had the pleasure of participating in a project for the organization Art is Moving. Started by two lovely ladies - Lisa and Lauren - Art is Moving describes itself as "2 artists collaborating to make art part of everyone's life." Pretty cool, right? Anyways, my interview is just one of many for their "I Am An Artist" series - a project in which they attempt to interview contemporary artists in every state of America. Check out my interview HERE. And read their manifesto below:
Art is Moving believes that art is for the everyone. We exist in order to push that belief as well as constantly question art, the artists role in our society, and the art world. We also believe that art should be FREE. It should be free to make, free to see, and free to talk about. Because we believe that art is a fundamental part of a healthy society we will work in order to deliver it to every corner of the world.
